Intro into Ashtanga or Ashtanga 101
If you've ever wanted to try Ashtanga yoga, but didn't feel ready to jump into the Primary Series at 10:30...we now have the class for you. On Wednesday morning from 9:15-10:15, Gwen Hull will be teaching Intro to Ashtanga. This class is appropriate for anyone. The tighter you are the more this class will help. The class will begin with breathing and body awareness in postures to prepare you to open, and then the Sun Salutations will be taught with many modifications and options for all body types, injuries, age, and lack of experience. Next, the standing postures will increase strength and confidence to help you move into seated postures. Finally, the Closing sequence will be modified for each person so that you leave each day feeling challenged, relaxed, rejuvenated, and peaceful.
She would love for any new people to Ashtanga to try this class first, and then progress to the full primary series when they are ready. More experience students are always welcome to attend if the time is better, but this class will focus on instruction.
