Growing up, I dabbled in many different activities. I first tried ballet at the age of 6, as I reached the age of 9 I decided to try sports. Finding out that I was not a competitive person I quit at 13. Overlapping my “sports” years I played piano for a total of 8. At 14 I decided that I wanted to try dancing again. I sprained and dislocated my ankle at 16 and once again, quit what I had started. At 18 I was told that I have scoliosis and kyphosis which discouraged me to try anything active until I became interested in exercise. I decided that exercise was something I was not going to give up!

Not only did it help with physical pain and irritation in my upper back (due to my curved spine) it made me feel better mentally, psychologically, emotionally, etc. As my interest of exercise grew in college, I decided to re-enter my interest of dance by taking a World Dance class. The next semester I began taking yoga classes. Not only did yoga make me feel absolutely incredible in ways that other forms of exercise could not; it helped to straighten my spine 2 inches! At the ripe age of 21 I finally decided what I wanted to do with my life.

During the summer of 2009 I got my personal trainer certification through WITS, that fall I became certified through Yoga Fit. The summer of 2010 I will be getting re-certified as a trainer through AFFA, and hope to soon get my RYT 200 through the “Yoga School of Therapeutics”. Although I’ve only been in this business a very short time, I am incredibly passionate about it and feel honored to be a part of something so wonderful. My personal philosophy is to find something that you love and to never give it up! “Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” – Confucius
